in the kitchen: maple spice london fog

Dec. 15, 2024 / All Things Food

Hey, lovely friends! I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite ways to combat the winter blues is with a favorite book and a hot drink. My go-to recently has been a London Fog with a little bit of cinnamon and maple syrup. Make it in your favorite mug, and you have the beginning of the perfect cozy evening!

Maple Spice London Fog

Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 5 minutes mins
Servings: 1
Course: Drinks
Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Method

  1. Steep the tea bag in the hot water. I tend to leave it in longer (3-5 minutes) but you can leave it in as little or as long as you want, depending on how strong you like your tea.
  2. Add the maple syrup and cinnamon; stir well.
  3. Heat up your milk in the microwave or on the stove. If you have a frother, use it to froth up the heated milk.
  4. Tip: bringing the frother slightly out of the milk will add more foam, while keeping it in the milk will create less foam.
  5. Remove the tea bag and pour the hot milk into the tea.
  6. Serve immediately. I love enjoying this on a cold evening with one of my favorite mystery books!
