don’t stop praying: how to make your own prayer board

Mar. 23, 2025 / All Things Life

Hey, my lovely friends! Pull out the scissors and the glue, because this week, I’m showing you how to make a prayer board. Making my prayer board was something I really enjoyed doing and having it in my room is a great reminder to pray for different people and situations. So, grab your craft supplies and let’s get into it!

get inspired

When I first decided to make a prayer board, Pinterest was my source of inspiration. I had a few ideas in mind, but looking at all the different possibilities gave me even more ideas. Here’s a Pinterest board I made with all of my favorites!

pick your ideas

The board I ended up creating was a combination of different things I saw on Pinterest. What’s the aesthetic you’re going for? Simple and minimalist, or lots of layers and flowers? The supplies you have on hand could also play a part in what you want to make, which brings us to the next step.

gather supplies

I decided to make my prayer board on a random Tuesday night, so I tried to use things that I already had in my craft box. If you have more time and are more organized, a trip to the craft store with some friends would be fun! Three things I’d recommend getting for any prayer board:

  • envelopes (for the different categories)
  • Post-Its (for writing requests and verses)
  • little things for decorating (flowers, stickers, clothes pins, etc.)

You’ll also need something to use as the base of your board. I used a poster board left over from another project, but you could also use a bulletin board or something similar.

put it all together

This is the fun part! I’d highly recommend laying everything out on your board first, BEFORE taping/gluing it all on. That gives you a chance to see how it all looks together, and it’s so much easier to move and rearrange.

I didn’t get a lot of pictures of my board while I was working on it, but here are the few I took along the way.

The Bible talks a lot about prayer, so having some verses talking about prayer on your board is a great idea. Some of my favorites are:

  • Philippians 4:6
  • Matthew 7:7-8
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
  • Romans 8:26
  • Colossians 4:2
  • Romans 12:12
  • Matthew 6:9-13

don’t stop praying

Once your prayer board is finished, put it somewhere where you’ll see it every day and be reminded to pray for your requests. Several of the verses above (Colossians 4:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, and Romans 12:12) all talk about being constant in prayer. Now that you have your prayer board, make it a habit to spend time in prayer.

let’s chat!

have you ever made a prayer board? what’s your favorite Bible verse about prayer?
