Hey there, lovely friends! It is officially the holiday season, and I’m excited to share some Christmas posts these next few weeks! Today I’m doing the holiday 20 questions tag. It’s been forever since I did a blog tag, and I had a lot of fun doing a winter/holiday themed one. When you’ve finished reading, why not pick a question or two and answer in the comments?

- When do you consider the holiday season officially started? – Thanksgiving, for sure! For my family, that’s just the beginning of a season of celebrating and spending time together.
- What’s your favorite thing about winter? – To be honest, I don’t like winter at all 😆 but if I had to pick something, probably going skiing with my sisters.
- What’s your least favorite thing about winter? – The cold, the snow, the darkness. . .
- What do you like to do in the snow? – Why are all of these about winter? XD I love skiing, and also having snowball fights with my sister, brother, and nieces and nephews.
- What’s your favorite holiday tradition? – Having cookies and apple cider while we decorate the Christmas tree. I also love having a holiday weekend: when my siblings and their families come home, we often do Thanksgiving on one day, Christmas Eve the next, and then family Christmas! It’s always a hectic time, especially with six young kids running around, but it’s always a great time of yummy food, lots of games and playing outside, and teasing/joking with each other.
- How do you usually celebrate Thanksgiving? – For the past three years, I’ve done the local Turkey Trot in the morning. In the past I’ve done it with my sister, but this year I did it with a few friends. We usually sit down to eat around 1:00. Something that’s become a tradition for us is inviting friends over for the meal, especially if they don’t have family in the area. After we eat and clean up, people either sit at the table and visit, take a nap in the living room, or go for a walk. Later in the evening is when we get out the desserts and leftovers. We often get more company for dessert, and spend more time talking and eating our favorite food.
- How do you usually celebrate Christmas? – For the past several years, I’ve had three Christmases over the course of the season. One with all my siblings and their families (when we do our sibling gift exchange), Christmas Day itself, when it’s me, my sister, and parents, and then a late December get-together with my mom’s side of the family. All three have Christmas music turned up loud, laughing and telling stories, and eating our favorite Christmas foods. (And drinks, too! If you haven’t yet, check out my Maple Spice London Fog for a toasty Christmas morning treat.)
- What’s your favorite type of pie? – Blueberry or peanut butter.
- What’s your fave winter / Christmas themed emoji? – ❄️ rather ironic since I don’t like snow, isn’t it? 😆
- What’s your favorite Christmas song? – Let’s Go Christmas Caroling by Luke Langman, White Christmas by Bing Crosby, and It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas by Perry Como. Pretty much any of the classic Christmas songs.
- Do you have a Christmas tree? If so how do you like to decorate it? – Yes, we usually have one! Our tree is always decorated with ornaments that we’ve made, received from friends, or collected on various trips. My sister likes adding colorful glass balls and tinsel, too.
- What’s one gift you would like to receive for Christmas this year? – I’d really like things for Bible study: pens, highlighters, Daily Grace Co. studies, etc. I’d also like an espresso machine.
- Would you rather host a holiday party or go to someone else’s? – Definitely host! Planning a party is my favorite part, but I also enjoy hosting.
- What’s your favorite Christmas movie? – Klaus and It’s a Wonderful Life. I watch both every year and never get tired of them.
- What do you like to do on New Year’s Eve? – Stay up late with my sister, watch The Lord of the Rings or Marvel movies, plan out my goals for the new year.
- Have you ever stayed up til midnight? – Absolutely! I’ve stayed up all night before, too.
- Do you believe in New Year’s Resolutions? – In my experience, resolutions never get kept. I keep at them for the first few months, but after that, they fall to the wayside. I prefer making goals for the year based off of things I’m already doing and want to stay consistent in.
- As of now, have you kept any of yours from 2024? – I don’t even remember what they were, if I’m completely honest. *goes to find them* I think I kept a few, but for the most part I forgot about them. I did try to be consistent with things like Bible study, working out, writing, and spending time with family, though!
- How long do you get off of school for winter break? – Two weeks for math, science, and English; four weeks for my college class.
- Overall, how much do you love the holiday season on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst part of the year 10 being absolutely amazing)? – It’s a 10/10 for me.
let’s chat!
what’s your opinion on tinsel? have you thought about your goals/resolutions for 2025? are you hoping for a white Christmas?
